| Spaz
in the Waco Harley parking lot |
Spaz was nervous
and excited the day we picked up the bike, to the right are photos of
him waiting for the dealer to open and the other is after closing the
deal. I'm sure that driving home for the very first time from Waco, about
60 miles away, was thrilling for him. I followed in the car. I'd never
been on a Harley before. Our first ride the next day was to Grapevine
Lake, next page. It was quite a drive. Oh, and we got married holding
hands over the bike during our wedding ceremony in our back yard 1995,
next page. We had some friends over and my parents flew in from California.
Notice Abby sitting in front of me, she was my flower girl.
As far as neighbor relations
go, our life is divided into two sections: before the bike and after the
bike. Neighbors used to wave and say hi to us before we brought the bike
home. The lady next door used to let her fatherless son visit with Spaz
every once in a while. After the bike, all interaction ceased, some neighbors
even turned their backs to us when they saw or heard us coming, so they
wouldn't have to acknowledge we were there and have to wave or say hi.
This section of the Harley Chronicles is devoted to the bike as it was
in its original state, the way it remained for three years (1995-1998).
Beginning in 1998 Spaz added chrome, twisted spokes, wideforks, chrome
skulls, lights, did I mention chrome, paint, bolts, you name it. We've
kept a photo journal of the bike's many upgrades at every stage. Check
in often, as the Chronicles are undergoing expansion. The first stage
of customization was the addition of twisted spokes and wide forks.
The next page has some pretty cool shots of reflections on chrome. Check
out the large images. |
