Scenes of Angeles Forest Foothills
 We're almost there now. My parents live right at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. They make up much of the Angeles National Forest. These photos were taken during our three days in LA. Just days before we arrived an out of control fire, which had destroyed many of acres, was by weather conditions, brought to an end. So many acres of forest and hundreds of homes were destroyed and these charred hills are their only legacy. The photos below show the green hills where my parents live and the burned hills from the fire not even one-half mile away! These people had to have been just frantic. Look how close the scorched earth is to their backyard.
