When I
arrived in Texas I was a mess in every way, afraid of everything, terrified
to do anything. I was with a stranger, we were buying a house together
and I was 1500 miles away from anyone I knew. One of the first people
I met was a friend of Spaz' a fellow Bostonian to him. She and I had quite
a bit in common, particularly when it came to the occult. She just happened
to know this Tarot Reader who she claimed was absolutely 100%. Of course
I went.
I told this woman nothing. I just sat down, cut the cards and watched
and listened. I was impressed with her, as she knew my background, that
I was running, that someone wanted to kill me, and that they were actively
looking for me. They had already tricked my mother once when I moved into
the "hideaway" of giving them the address. But, I've got to
tell you, her words came back to blow me away the very next month, August.
Here's what she told me: blah blah trapped in house...She saw a man, she
assumed to be my ex-husband, with his feet tied together at the bottom
of a large body of water, dead. This would happen in August. I was going
to hear about it very soon, she said. I would either read about it, or
cops would be involved somehow.
I called my parents and told them what this woman had said. They told
me that they would keep their eyes and ears open. They checked the obituaries
in the local paper daily, but nothing happened. My father would call every
once in a while to say that nothing had happened yet. Damned if, during
the second week of August, there wasn't an article on the front page of
the papers: Man Found Dead in Lake Worth. He and his wife had divorced,
but he was still insanely jealous, so he kidnapped her, tied her up and
made her watch him shoot her lover. Then further watch as he tied his
feet together, threw him in his car and drove off with the lover. She
was still tied up, and would remain that way for the next eight or so
hours. During this time, the jealous ex-husband drove to Lake Worth, a
large lake in Ft. Worth, Texas. He then threw the lover into a deep part
of the lake and run off. That is really not so fantastic, is it? Here's
that part: the couple lived right across the street from me and Spaz,
the man still lived there. We had seen him a couple of times. Then this
really surrealistic thing happened. Three partrol cars surrounded the
house. They were waiting for the man to come home. Out of nowhere this
huge peacock (below) starts running down the street. I don't know if you
realize this or not, but there are no peacocks in Texas. This is not home
for them. I got concerned about the peacock, and I run over to the closest
police car and ask him what they're going to do about the bird. He looked
really nervous and pretty much told me to go away, there was an investigation
going on and I was in the way. Click
