Etcetera.
This is one
of my favorite places in Sanctuary. I hope you find yourself amused,
interested and able to relate. Maybe we can find a little more insight
and mystery in this crazy thing that is life, whether at its best, worst,
funniest, weirdest, or anything in between. Etcetera's roots in Sanctuary
are real life stories, situations, mysteries, etc., but that's not where
it stops. Etcetera is the place for creative writings, thoughts, fractured
lyrics, jokes, whatever. Just like everybody has this one can't-live-without-it
drawer in their house, ironically usually named "junk" drawer.
It is often a collection of treasures that there's no real place for,
but that you must have locational knowledge of and easy access to. I'd
guess the same would be true for a website. Message Board soon!

I got an email at work, a Power Point
slideshow that blew my mind. I reformatted it for an html slideshow.
It is "Cloning Gone Wild."
Somebody put serious thought and great work in to these unlikely and
odd combinations of animals. I was enchanted by some and actually frightened
by others. I was left wondering if science could actually be genetically
messing around like this. I have to say that my favorite is number 2,
the little "kittymoth."
Do you like clowns
and/or dolls? They terrify me. I believe they're evil, and I know
I'm not alone in this fear. I once lived across the street from a lady
whose husband collected clowns. They covered the walls, literally. There
was a set of about 10 progressive paintings of her husband being made
into a clown. As you walked through the living room you were surrounded
by shelves crowded with ceramic clowns, clocks, vases, candy holders,
wind up toys and and a variety of other clown knick knacks. The final
fright ended in the game room. Before you got to the pool table, you
had to walk past a 6 FOOT clown sitting in a rocking chair...looking
right at you! Two frights at once: the Rocking Chair and The Clown!
Rocking chairs scare me, too. They might rock at any time, especially
with a 6 foot clown sitting on them. I couldn't go in. I asked her if
they scared her. She said she hated them and they gave her the creeps,
but she wouldn't dare remove them for fear of upsetting her husband.
He was quite volatile and was always yelling at her on his good days!
Can you imagine being surrounded 24x7 by the very thing you feared and
hated the most and not be able to at least say anything about it?
Dumb Ass Celebrities:
What really gets to me every time I am subjected to it are these cutesy
"interviews" and "profound" thoughts of these actors.
Usually there are a few that really irritate me, but there's one that
pisses me off, big time. I'm really sorry that it's Toni Collett (mom
in Sixth Sense) because I really liked her alot...until now. She says
these immortal and profound words: "In a way, watching a movie
is a narcississtic experience, because you relate to whatever is familiar."
WELL, YEAH! It doesn't take Eistein to figure out that you would naturally
relate to something you know as opposed to something you've never heard
of! Stupid. I get enraged all over again and I just want to choke her!
For
one of the most hilarious clips to come along
in a while, treat yourself to "Trombone." If you haven't seen
it

Amazing
Honda Accord Commercial.
After five years, here
is an amazing display of precision events creating a chain reaction
of continuous, sometimes appearing impossible, movement with parts of
the car. Remember, make sure your sound is on. Fascinating beyond description.
(5/2003) Please Note: If
you've had trouble viewing this recently, I inadvertently did not put
it on my server, I just linked to that site, which is no longer active.

New** Whimsical Dragon and Mystical
Cat Moving Slideshow. Dagmar and Dewey have
a brand new look! The heart of Etcetera's Art Gallery is my collection
of Randall Spangler's fantastic mystical art. Those adorable little
green "draglings" have my heart, and the awesome mystical
cats are equally stunning. If you know this artist's work, you know
what I mean.
Bizarre
Transformations of Michael Jackson. This just so fascinatingly
horrible that I just had to compile the photos of comparison of this
very strange person. How can he possibly look at himself and think he's
all right? He's literally falling apart.
One
Night At Denny's. One night spaz, keith
and i went on one of our 3 am Denny's raids for breakfast, and spaz
and keith pulled a primo joke on the waiter.
The
Land Shark Incident. On a vacation from L.A.
to Colorado a friend plays a terrible joke on me in a mirror mazed bathroom.
Stop
Reading My Mind. A not-so-typical day
at work when I'm receiving crazy thoughts from a co-worker that turned
into a "Jerry Springer Moment."
Oops,
Wrong House. Very funny story about
too much alcohol, having the police take you away, and Batman.
Classic
Web Videos. Some of those infamous
and great movies you get by email. Caution, a couple are not *kid friendly*
and kids should not view them.
Art
Gallery. It's more
of Dewey and Dagmar, those whimsical little dragons, and their sidekicks,
the mystical cats, by one of my favorite artists, Randall Spangler.
I have you enjoy the Whimsical Dragon
(and Mystical Cat) Slideshow has several new additions, and
some smaller displays. I love hearing from other Spangler fans!
I
Love Spock Pre-Fan Club. My mother woke me up
from a deep sleep to see this guy on a new show, called Star Trek and
I fell hard for Spock (authentic picture and autograph from 1968).
Feel free to send in
anything that you'd like to see here. Anything goes. This is open forum
on anything and everything from the stupid to the awesome, real life
situations, from the humorous and unbelieveable to the amazing and fantastic.
This is the home to rants and pet peeves. What pisses you off? One thing
that gets to me is commercials. Man, advertisers must think we're a
bunch of idiots. I have always loved the entertainment industry, it
provides me with so many opportunities to put my "nitpicking"
skills to use and sharpen my observation techniques. Actually, there
is a knack to nitpicking scenes of movies, because you have to be right
there ("be the scene") to notice maybe two seconds of a hell
of a blooper. Once one is discovered it becomes an addiction to find
another. Sometimes I find myself looking for mistakes so intensely that
the movie itself seems to run in "background" mode.
